Welcome to ChurnHill Glass--the home of Tahoe made lampwork glass beads, vessels, and assorted other glassy goodness.
All of my glass items are individually handmade and one of a kind. The magic happens here in my mountain studio, nestled in the forest at Lake Tahoe which inspires much of the work. On these pages you will find lampwork beads, vessels, vases--small scale glass art, most of it wearable. Come on in, take a look around. I hope you will find something you like.
What is lampwork? Lampworking is the process of making glass items in the flame of a torch. The term lampwork refers to the oil lamps that were used in the process historically. I use a propane/oxygen torch, and my oxygen is supplied by an oxygen concentrator, a piece of machinery that pulls oxygen from the air eliminating the need for tanked oxygen.
